Rara Lake is the biggest lake in Nepal and it is in Karnali zone situated at an altitude of 2990 m, Lake Covers an area of 10.8 sq.km. Rara Lake is the 5km long and 3 Km wide. The maximum depth of this lake is 167 m. The lake is surrounded by richly forested hills and chuchemara Danda at 4087 meters is the best vantage point to witness stunning views of the lake and the thickly forested hill sides and the snow-capped peaks around it. Other summits in the park area are Ruma Kand at 3,731 meters and Malika Kand at 3,444 meters which are situated to the north of the lake. The trek to Rara Lake begins at Jumla, a village in the Trans-Himalayan area and the rides covered with forests and alpine pastures. Day 01: Kathmandu to Surkhet
Today is our first day of our exotic tour to Rara Lake, we will drive early in the morning and drive along Trishuli gorge to reach East West highway. Next, we will turn north from Kohalpur and reach Surkhet. Overnight in Surkhet.
Day 02: Surkhet to Kalikot
After breakfast we will drive through the gorge of the Karnali river which is longest river in Nepal. Next, we will drive through small villages to reach Manma in Kalikot. Overnight at Manma Kalikot.
Day 03: Kalikot to Rara.
Wake up early in the morning. Have breakfast and get ready for our destination “Rara Lake”. We continue our day drive via Sinja and Nagma. Nagma to Rara is and off-road drive. You will be travelling at the edge of Karnali river via villages and forest. It is around 4 hours drive. Upon reaching Talcha airport further you will drive around 20 – 25 minutes where we will park our Jeep. From there it takes around 30 minutes walk to reach lake. Free and relax. We will have dinner at Hotel.
Day 04: Explore Rara Lake
Wake up early in the morning and ready to explore Nepal biggest lake at the high elevation. This is your free day at Rara Lake. You can walk around, enjoy boating, and have pictures and any other available optional tour like hike around etc yourself. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner will be served at the Hotel. Free and relax.
Day 05: Rara to Kalikot
Wake up in the morning have breakfast and begin our returning journey. We will walk couple of hours to catch our vehicle where we parked. We will follow the same route while returning back as well. We will have our lunch on the way and following the same path will lead us to Manma, kalikot in the evening. Check in at Hotel. Dinner at Hotel. Free and relax.
Day 06: Manma to Surkhet.
Today we will drive same way back to Surkhet from Manma. Next, we will reach Surkhet and overnight in Surkhet.
Day 07: Surkhet to Kathmandu
Today we will drive from Surkhet to Kathmandu and last day of our tour. We will drive same way to Kathmandu.
