Lower Dolpo is a remote trekking destination in Nepal. Shey- Phoksundo Lake (3,612 m, 11,850ft) and Shey-Phoksundo national park, Nepal largest park in the mid-west of Nepal is the attraction of this region. There are no precise population numbers for the region, with estimates including less than 5,000 and 18,000.The Dolpo are generally adherents of Bon, a religion whose origins predate Buddhism but whose modern form is officially accepted as a fifth school of Tibetan Buddhism. The remote regions have preserved its Tibetan culture relatively in pure form, making it attractive to Westerners. Snowy peaks, ancient and isolated villages, abundant wildlife, the Buddhist monastery and great lakes are remarks of Dolpa. Embraced with rock, forests and snow-capped peak this area has been explained as world’s Natural hidden Wonders. Numala Pass, Bagala Pass are the challenging pass which leads trekkers to the magnificent views of Dhaulagiri range, KyangyuRipa, Annapurna range and other mountains.  Lower Dolpo has several deepest lakes amongst in Nepal. Shey- Phoksundo Lake is one of calm and still lake among them.

Day 01   Arrival in Kathmandu & transport to hotel, Altitude 1350m.

Day 02   Trek prepare day.

Day 03   Fly to Nepalgung, Altitude 150m.

Day 04   Fly to Jufal, then trek to dunai, Altitude 2475m

Day 05   Trek Dunai to Chhepak, Altitude 2680m.

Day 06   Trek to Chunuar, Altitude 300m.

Day 07   Trek to Phoksundo, Altitude 3700m.

Day 08   Rest and explore day.

Day 09   Trek to Bagala- high camp, Altitude 4921m.

Day 10   Trek to danighar (bagala-pass 5214m), Altitude 4631m.

Day 11   Trek to Nubala fedi, Altitude 4700m.

Day 12   Trek to Tarkya (Numala-pass 5238m), Altitude 4209m.

Day 13   Trek to Dhotarap, Altitude 3944m.

Day 14   Rest and explore day.

Day 15   Trek to Gyamgar, Altitude 3756m.

Day 16   Trek to chhyugar, Altitude 3441m.

Day 17   Trek to Tarakot, Altitude 2537m.

Day 18   Trek to Juphal, Altitude 2475m.

Day 19   Fly to Nepalgunj, Altitude 150m.

Day 20   Fly to Kathmandu, Altitude 1350m.

Day 01   Arrival in Kathmandu & transport to hotel, Altitude 1350m.

Upon our arrival in Kathmandu, a representative from Gautam holidays will pick us up from the airport and take us to our hotel. In the afternoon, we may take a rest or visit Gautam holidays office. In the evening, there will be a welcome dinner hosted by Gautam holidays. For dinner, you will be served excellent Nepalese cuisine. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 02   Trek prepare day.

Today after breakfast we start a guided tour to several of the most historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu. Some of these landmarks are considered World Heritage Sites including the historic Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the famous ‘Monkey Temple’ (Swayambhunath) and Buddhist shrine (Bouddhanath), which is one of the largest stupas in the world. At noon, there will be a pre-trip discussion where we can meet our trek leader and other team members. Gautam holidays will brief us regarding our trek as well as provide us with an opportunity to ask any questions we may have regarding our upcoming adventure. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 03   Fly to Nepalgung, Altitude 150m.

After our short excursion in Kathmandu, we take an hour-long flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj, located in Western Nepal. Nepalgunj, a city nearby the Nepal-India border, is also the entry to Simikot, Humla. The city itself is a fascinating Terai town that cabinets the diverse culture of Nepal. In Nepalgunj, we visit the homegrown market, mini-zoo and nearby villages. Overnight in Nepalgunj.

Day 04   Fly to Jufal, then trek to dunai, Altitude 2475m

We fly to Jhupal after breakfast. The town is attractively located over the Himalayan foothills, with views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri peaks to its north. Here, we meet our trekking staff and begin the journey. We walk through attached fields to the Bheri River and its thin gorge. We continue walking to Dunai which is the managerial headquarter of the Dolpo region. We explore the small town in the evening and camp there for the night.

Day 05   Trek Dunai to Chhepak, Altitude 2680m.

Our trekking starts from today. Wewill be trekking to Dunai to Chhepak in 2680m altitude. Trekking to this place is an amazing experience to the people who are trekking for the first time.

Day 06   Trek to Chunuar, Altitude 300m.

Today after having a breakfast we will start our journey to Chunuar in 300m altitude. We will be able to explore the flora and fauna towards this destination.

Day 07   Trek to Phoksundo, Altitude 3700m.

Early in the morning we will be heading towards the Phuksundo Lake in 3700m altitude above the sea level. We will be able to explore the natural beauty of Phuksundo Lake and capture the scenery which lasts for longer.

Day 08   Rest and explore day.

After a regular trekking we may be tired. Thus, we will be taking rest throughout the day and after wards we will the exploring the beauty of the place.

Day 09   Trek to Bagala- high camp, Altitude 4921m.

Trekking to Bagala-high camp in 4921m altitude may be challenging for us. We will be able to explore the country from the high altitude and enjoy the gift of nature.

Day 10   Trek to danighar (bagala-pass 5214m), Altitude 4631m.

After having a breakfast, we will start our trekking to daighar in 4631m altitude exploring the snowcapped mountains along with flora and fauna.

Day 11   Trek to Nubala fedi, Altitude 4700m.

Early in the morning after having a breakfast we will be trekking to Nubala fedi in 4700m altitude exploring the highest Himalaya peaks and capturing the memories.

Day 12   Trek to Tarkya (Numala-pass 5238m), Altitude 4209m.

Trekking to Tarkya in 4209m altitude is a challenging as well as adventurous trek. You will be able to explore the Himalayas foot hills from a nearer distances.

Day 13   Trek to Dhotarap, Altitude 3944m.

Today after having a breakfast we will be trekking to Dhotarap in 3944m altitude exploring the natural beauty with a clean environment.

Day 14   Rest and explore day.

We may be tired through a continuous trekking so we will be taking rest and exploring the villages and exchanging the culture and traditions followed by the local people over there.                         

Day 15   Trek to Gyamgar, Altitude 3756m.

We will again continue trekking to Gyamgar in 3756m altitude. Wewill be able to explore the snowcapped mountains, flora and fauna over here.

Day 16   Trek to chhyugar, Altitude 3441m.

Today after having a breakfast we will continue our trekking to Chhyugar in 3441m altitude. We will be able to breath in a fresh air and observe a gift of nature.

Day 17   Trek to Tarakot, Altitude 2537m.

After having a breakfast our trek continues along the southern bank of the Bheri River heading upstream on an easy trail. Along the way, we pass through several deep gorges, hanging bridges and isolated villages. Our trail also includes a tremendous gorge with pine trees and a path built about seven meters above the river. After walking for a while, we will be greeted by the colorful, terraced field of Tarakot, a small village that stands on a hillock to the south of the Bheri River. Overnight in Tarakot.

Day 18   Trek to Juphal, Altitude 2475m.

We march towards Jhupal via Sulighat on a trail surrounded by birch trees. From atop a ridge, we get the most spectacular views of the mountain above us and Jhupal Village below. Utmost caution is required while trekking along this trail. After reaching Jhupal, we can spend our afternoon exploring the busy market town or simply taking a rest. Overnight in Jhupal.

Day 19   Fly to Nepalgunj, Altitude 150m.

We came at the end of our journey. We will take a flight from Jhupal to Nepalgunj. Overnight at Nepalgung.

Day 20   Fly to Kathmandu, Altitude 1350m.

Take a flight from Nepalgunj to Kathmandu and our trip ends.
